Kovilan Memorial talk at the Kerala Sahitya Akademy Audutorium in Thrissur, Kerala

As planned earlier, the first Kovilan Memorial talk was held at 3.30 pm on Wednesday, 1-6-2011, at the Kerala Sahitya Akademy Audutorium, in Thrissur, Kerala. Dr. E.V. Ramakrishnan, Dean, Department of English, South Gujarath State University, Surath spoke on the topic “Desham, Rashtram, Novel”.

As planned earlier, the first Kovilan Memorial talk was held at 3.30 pm on Wednesday, 1-6-2011, at the Kerala Sahitya Akademy Audutorium, in Thrissur, Kerala. Dr. E.V. Ramakrishnan, Dean, Department of English, South Gujarath State University, Surath spoke on the topic “Desham, Rashtram, Novel”. Prof. K.P. Sankaran, noted Malayalam critic and essayist, presided over the function which was inaugurated by activist and writer, Prof. Sara Joseph. The website of The International Kovilan Study Group, www.kovilanstudygroup.org, was opened to the public by M.P. Surendran, Deputy Editor, Mathrubhumi. Dr. Shaji Jacob of the Department of Malayalam, Sree Sankara University, Kalady, Kerala presented a paper on “Kovilan–Charithram, Anubhavam, Aakhyanam”. K. A. Mohandas, member of the Study Group welcomed the gathering and P.S. Iqbal, member of the hosting committee proposed vote of thanks.
